What Makes A Successful Dieter?

Weight loss isn’t the only measure of a successful dieter. There are other factors that can show you are making progress with your nutrition and you can sustain your eating habits. So what makes a successful dieter?

  • One that doesn’t feel restricted by their food choices

  • One that enjoys the food they eat and chooses to eat healthier foods 

  • One that can eat “cheat meals” or treats without falling off track

  • One that has no food guilt or negative associations with food

  • One that consumes adequate amounts of each macros; protein, carbs & fats

  • One that doesn’t feel the need to snack, binge eat or emotionally eat

  • One that can distinguish the difference between hunger and boredom

  • One that eats mindfully and understands the importance of food to fuel their body

  • One that exercises for enjoyment and the positive effects rather than to punish themselves or purely focus on calorie expenditure (weightloss)

  • One that can say no to foods they don’t actually want to eat

  • One that can see themselves being able to maintain their current nutritional habits for years on because it is now their lifestyle

  • One that doesn’t even feel like they are dieting
