Hyrox Coaching at FIT FOR LIFE
At Fit For Life we’ve been building hybrid athletes since we opened our doors in 2020, so when Hyrox landed in Australia, we were ready.
We work with our crew through group and 1-to-1 coaching blocks through our specific Hyrox training strategies and sessions we’ve taken our athletes from ‘I’m not sure I can finish Hyrox’ all the way to Podium spots on race day!
All our coaches have raced Hyrox before and we pull together our racing experience with the tried and tested Fit For Life Hybrid training methods to build you a tailored Hyrox training program that will have you in peak form on race day.
Our training is structured around an 8 or 10 week program:
2, or 3 weekly Hyrox specific sessions,
our 2 run club sessions, and
1 or 2 strength sessions a week.
Each of our Hyrox sessions will pull together Hyrox specific movements on the sleds, wall balls, lunges, and burpee broad jumps, and because we train on new Concept 2 equipment that means you train on the race equipment and there are NO surprises on race day.
Getting a Hyrox coach means we can make the training all about YOU! We want to hear about your race goals, run times, and what race you have coming up.
As the coaching partner in your corner your Fit For Life coaches will help you get the most out of your Hyrox training plan by:
working with you to build a run and strength program based around you;
building a race day pacing strategy;
giving you technique tips and tricks for each Hyrox station;
working through a simulation with you before race day; and
making any edits to your plan to help you peak at the right time!
A Hyrox coach helps take the stress out of your Hyrox race preparation by building a strength program, run program and Hyrox specific training program to get you race ready by event day.
Whether it’s your first Hyrox or you’re aiming for a PB, getting to the start line of a Hyrox race can be a little intimidating.

Below are a few things we’ve helped our crew overcome on the way to their first and fastest Hyrox races:
I’ve never done a Hyrox before. Great, we love seeing fresh faces on the start line. If you’re new to Hyrox, or fitness in general we’ve got your back. We’ll start by assessing where you’re currently at, we'll explain each station and what they require, and build you up slowly to make sure you stay healthy and get to the start line race ready.
I’m a runner but I need to get stronger. No worries! We’ve taken runners to podium finishes so we’ve got a playbook for this. We’ll build your strength and technique for heavy sleds and your grip strength for the carry. We’ll start by taking a baseline of your strength and build your program to get you moving heavier weights safely without crushing your running legs.
I’m strong but the running is my weakness. Brilliant, let’s get you into some testing to see where your running is at and then we’ll build a focused running program to help you lift your aerobic capacity while practicing the hardest thing in Hyrox, running on tired legs.
I want to beat my previous time and qualify. We love this! We’ve got a couple of athletes we’ve been working with on this, so let’s talk about how we can tie coach Loz on the strength and Hyrox training side and Coach Jono on the running side to build a program that helps you run faster under fatigue, gets you stronger as the race goes on, and gets you ready for the World Champs!
Absolutely! With help from the whole Fit For Life coaching crew we will give you a bigger base for your running, get you stronger and trained in specific stations for maximum efficiency and on the road to a new PB!
